Nita Renée Pastor
For decades, clients have trusted Renée’s honest and sincere approach to helping manage wealth. With a genuine interest and curiosity about the well-being of her clients and their families, she specializes in helping women adapt to changing life events as well as helping pre-retirees transition into retirement and manage their income for life.
Her goal for clients is to help them achieve the life that they want and to give them that comfort and security in knowing that she is looking out for them. Diligent in her approach, Renée makes sure all aspects of managing your wealth are well tended to – bringing to light the things that you don’t know so they can be adequately addressed.
Renée has spent her life overcoming challenges, both personal and professional. She’s so passionate about helping her clients make smart decisions about their money because she grew up in a large household where the scarcity of money caused a lot of mental and emotional anguish – and eventually broke up her family. In her adult life, she first married into a similar situation and understands the emotional impact that money issues have on our lives and relationships.
Over the course of these experiences, Renée learned that all of the issues were born out of fear. The fear of not having enough to take care of your family and, sometimes, the guilt and shame that came from that. She learned how to tame that fear by applying sound, financial planning principles that are designed to help build and maintain a foundational level of confidence. She passionately cares for her clients in that way so that they can go on about their lives without that fear but, instead, with comfort and contentment.
A financial professional since 1989, Renée has gained the kind of in-depth knowledge that comes from decades of experience guiding her clients through the ups and downs of the economy. Her career began at Dean Witter, and she was with A.G. Edwards for 13 years before moving to Morgan Keegan in 2004. Renée then merged along with the firm to become a part of Raymond James before establishing The Pastor Financial Group in 2020. Renée graduated with honors from the University of New Orleans with a bachelor’s degree in finance. An Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF), Renée chose to follow this mandate of always putting her clients’ best interests first.
A member of the Financial Planning Association of New Orleans, Renée was on the board for many years as pro bono director. One of the group’s biggest projects was to teach a 10-week financial literacy course to women of the local domestic violence shelter, Metropolitan Center for Women and Children. Renée continues to work with that project. She was also on the Executive Leadership Team for the American Heart Association for the Go Red for Women campaign in 2015.
She volunteers with the Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans through the AICPA Society, and is frequently brought in as a financial speaker for various professional clubs and organizations. Renée has volunteered to teach her “Educating Women on Wealth” workshops to women in Guatemala, which have included a variety of women, including two Supreme Court justices and indigenous Mayan women. She is also a member of the United Way’s Women United and the Greater New Orleans Foundation with the Impact 100. In both organizations, members decide which local women' and children’s charities will be donation recipients.
Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Renée lives in Metairie, part of the Greater New Orleans area. She has four children, Bryant and Alicia, Sebastian and Simón, as well as two grandsons.
The Pastor Financial Group is not affiliated with and does not endorse any of the organizations listed above.
